Connecting a student
Invite codes, what happens when a student accepts, and how seats work.
A student connects to you by accepting an invite. Nothing of theirs is visible to you until they do.
Inviting a student
- Go to your coach dashboard.
- Choose to add a student — you’ll get an invite code and a link.
- Send it to them however you already talk to them: message, email, or written down at the end of a lesson.
The invite does two jobs at once. It lets them into StatCaddy — even though it’s otherwise closed — and it connects them to you. Their seat is covered by your plan, so there’s nothing for them to pay.
Each code is single-use and belongs to one student.
What happens when they accept
They enter their email, get a sign-in code, and they’re in. The connection is active from that moment, and any rounds they log from then on appear on your side.
Rounds they logged before connecting come with them too, so a student who has been using StatCaddy on their own doesn’t arrive with an empty history.
Getting them started
The gap between “I’ve sent the invite” and “they’re logging rounds” is where this succeeds or fails. Two things help more than anything else:
- Get them to add it to their home screen in front of you, before they leave. An app behind a browser tab doesn’t get used. The instructions are here.
- Get one round in with them. Even a quick-totals round from last weekend. The first one is the hard one.
Seats
Your plan includes a number of student seats — 10 on Starter, 30 on Pro — and extra students are charged per month beyond that. You can see what any roster size costs on the pricing page.
A student can also pay for themselves on the solo plan and still connect to you, which doesn’t use one of your seats.
Disconnecting
Either side can end the connection at any time, and a student can do it without asking you. When they do, you stop seeing their data.
That’s deliberate: it’s their golf, and the arrangement only works if they’re in it willingly.
Under-16 students
Junior accounts are flagged, and parental consent applies. If you coach juniors, set this up properly before inviting them.
