StatCaddy

Terms of service

Last updated 15 August 2026

DRAFT — NOT FOR PUBLICATION. Written from how the product actually works, but every [NEEDS REVIEW] marker is a commercial or legal decision that needs a human, and the liability and governing-law sections need proper advice. Do not launch with any marker still visible.

These terms cover your use of StatCaddy — the app at statcaddy.app and this website. By using it, you agree to them.

Who these terms are with

[NEEDS REVIEW] Name the contracting entity — [legal entity name and registered address] — matching the privacy policy.

Your account

You need a valid email address to use StatCaddy. Sign-in is by a one-time code sent to that address, so keeping access to your inbox secure is how you keep your account secure.

One account is for one person. Don't share it, and don't let someone else use it — a coach and their students each need their own.

You must be at least [NEEDS REVIEW: minimum age] to hold an account. Junior players require parental consent, as set out in the privacy policy.

Plans and payment

Access to StatCaddy requires an active subscription, a seat covered by a coach, or a complimentary account granted by us.

Current prices are on the pricing page. Payments are taken by Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled.

Founding pricing

Where we describe a price as founding pricing, we mean it: if you subscribe at that price, we will not increase it for your existing subscription while it remains active and continuously paid. [NEEDS REVIEW] Confirm you intend to be bound by this — as written it is a promise, and it is a good one, but it must be one you're willing to keep. Define what happens if someone cancels and later returns.

Cancelling and refunds

You can cancel at any time from your billing page. Your access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for.

[NEEDS REVIEW] State your refund position. UK and EU consumers have statutory cancellation rights for digital services which you cannot exclude, and the usual approach is to ask the customer to acknowledge that supply begins immediately. This needs advice.

Coaches and students

If you are a coach:

If you are a student, you may disconnect from a coach at any time without their permission.

[NEEDS REVIEW] Decide whether coaches need a separate data-processing agreement with you. If a coach determines how their students' data is used, they may be a controller in their own right, which changes the relationship.

Your content, and ours

Your golf data is yours. Your rounds, notes and statistics belong to you, and we claim no ownership of them. You grant us permission to store and process them in order to provide the service — including sending them to the providers listed in the privacy policy.

A coach's content is theirs. Videos, practice games and lesson notes a coach creates remain theirs. [NEEDS REVIEW] If you ever intend to share or licence coach-authored content to other coaches, that permission must be obtained here, explicitly. Do not add a broad licence grant without deciding this deliberately.

What StatCaddy does and doesn't promise

StatCaddy analyses the data you give it. Its readings are generated automatically and are not coaching advice. They describe patterns in your numbers; they cannot see you play, and they are not a substitute for a qualified coach.

We aim to keep the service available and accurate, but we don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and automatically generated content can be wrong. Scorecard readings should always be checked on the review screen before saving.

Acceptable use

Don't:

We may suspend or end an account that does these things.

Ending it

You can stop using StatCaddy and delete your account at any time — email [email protected].

We may end or suspend your access if you break these terms, or if payment fails and stays unpaid. [NEEDS REVIEW] State the notice period you'll give for ending service without cause, and how long data remains retrievable after an account closes.

Liability

[NEEDS REVIEW — do not draft this without advice.] A limitation-of-liability clause needs to be written for your jurisdiction and your consumer/business mix. Nothing plausible-sounding has been put here on purpose, because a clause that is unenforceable, or that unlawfully excludes consumer rights, is worse than none.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you, we'll tell you in advance. Continuing to use StatCaddy after a change means you accept it.

Governing law

[NEEDS REVIEW] State the governing law and the courts with jurisdiction — likely Scotland, given where the business operates, but this is a decision to make deliberately rather than assume.
